On Christmas Lights

What the? This is one of my favorite/least favorite decorated houses in Cedar City. There is literally not a single piece of ground that isn't covered by some sort of decoration, and that goes for the vertical square footage of the trees as well. Note the large star in the background, which is actually about 15 feet tall and in a tree in the backyard...but here's the real kicker...you can't even see all of the lights! I can just imagine their little electricity counter (Adam, feel free to tell me what that thing is called) flippin over. You should have seen the massive lines going into the garage. I seriously believe that they have a seperate electricity line coming into the house all for this.
Now I'm all for Christmas cheer, but this just seems to over do it. Cami and I just put up our three strands of lights and that seems plenty enough to inspire my cheer. Especially considering the world consumption of energy, Christmas lights seem to be one of the most frivolous things out there. According to an article in Money mag it costs $7.20 to light ten strands of lights, 8 hrs/day for a month...while it only costs 72 cents to light the same number of LED strands...helping your wallet and the environment...seems to often go together the more you really look at it. Anyway, just a thought as we confront an 'Inconvenient Truth', duh, duh duuhhhhh!!!!!
