Great Reads of 2007

I've read alot this year. Partly due to a bum knee and partly because there's been a lot of crappy weather. Here's my favs so far from this year. All non-fiction, all similar in some respect and potential catalysts for each set of eyes that flit across their pages.

Heart of the World
by Ian Baker
-A story of the last great mystical, unexplored area in the depths of Tibet. Although lengthy and hard to pronounce just about every name, place, and deity it definetely strikes the adventurer in each of us...even if it's only from an armchair.

Mountains beyond Mountains
by Tracy Kidder
-Paul Farmer is changing the face of global health by treating the poor the same way you would treat someone who could pay. The result-dealing heavy blows to HIV transmission and TB worldwide. (You don't have to be a health care dork to appreciate what this guy is doing and understand this book-a true inspiration)

Three Cups of Tea
by Greg Mortensin and David Relin
-Another amazing story of a man changing the world, all with the start of a climbing bum living out of his Buick in Berkeley. Books not bombs-rural education at it's finest and the generosity of a world that tends to hate us (Americans).
